The Indigenous Economics Study Group is a study group established under the Canadian Economics Association and comprised of Indigenous and non-Indigenous economists and practitioners.

Our Mission:

At the Indigenous Economics Study Group, our mission is to promote economic empowerment, sustainability, and self-determination for Indigenous communities across the world. Rooted in the principles of inclusivity, cultural preservation, and economic justice, we strive to create a platform for research, education, and advocacy that addresses the unique economic challenges faced by Indigenous peoples.

The Association for Economic Research of Indigenous Peoples is a professional association of economists, political scientists, sociologists, policy practitioners, and others who are interested in economic research related to Indigenous peoples across the globe.

The Tulo Centre is the applied research and training home for Indigenous jurisdiction and institutional innovation. Canadian Economics Association

The organization of academic economists in Canada. The Association has for its object the advancement of economic knowledge through the encouragement of study and research, the issuing of publications, and the furtherance of free and informed discussion of economic questions.

Journal of Aboriginal Economic Development

TJAED's intent is to explore ideas and build knowledge in the field of Indigenous economic development theory and practice. The journal prefers a broad interpretation of research and knowledge and encourages a wide variety of contributions in this area. We want to know what people are doing, what is working, what is not working, and why. 

American Economic Association

AEA is a non-profit, non-partisan, scholarly association dedicated to the discussion and publication of economics research. The Association supports established and prospective economists with a set of career-enhancing programs and services

Bank of Canada - Indigenous Advisory Circle

The Indigenous Advisory Circle will provide advice and recommendations on how Indigenous Peoples in Canada might be represented on future bank notes through the use of symbols, images, patterns and other forms of visual iconography. The group will also provide guidance to the Bank of Canada Museum on its collections, programs and exhibitions that relate to Indigenous Peoples.
